Allegiant First in 2027: Seats, Bags and Whether the Upgrade Is Worth It

Two-by-two premium seats at the front of a narrow-body aircraft at dusk

An Allegiant fare can look different by checkout after seats, carry-ons and checked bags are added. Starting in spring 2027, select flights will also offer Allegiant First: eight seats at the front and several extras bundled into the fare. Its value depends less on the name than on the final price of the same trip built à la carte.

Eight seats, not traditional international first class

Allegiant says the front cabin will have eight seats in a 2-2 layout with 37 inches of pitch, five inches of recline, calf rests and adjustable headrests. The biggest practical gains are no middle seat and more personal space.

The airline has not promised lie-flat seats, a lounge or a full business-class meal. Treat the product as a more comfortable narrow-body seat rather than pricing it against long-haul first class.

Bags may be worth more than the seat

The fare includes a personal item, carry-on, one checked bag up to 70 pounds, priority check-in and priority boarding. Add-on pricing for a base fare can vary by flight and when it is purchased, so compare two final checkout totals rather than a headline fare with the First price.

A traveler who would buy both bags and a front seat may see the gap narrow. Someone traveling with only a backpack receives much less value from the bundle.

Which flights will offer Allegiant First

Allegiant plans a phased launch on select aircraft and routes from spring 2027, not a networkwide switch. The live booking result and seat map are the authority for a specific flight, and many Allegiant routes are seasonal.

If First does not appear, another date or direction may show it. Do not trade away a better airport or schedule solely to try the new cabin.

Four checks before buying

  • Price the exact same flight and date in the base cabin.
  • Add only the seat, carry-on, checked bag and priority services you actually need.
  • Compare the final tax-inclusive totals with Allegiant First.
  • Confirm the seat map shows First and reread change, cancellation and baggage terms before paying.

How to decide

  • Light short tripA base fare with only necessary extras is more likely to control cost.
  • Two bags neededAdd every required bag and seat charge before judging the First premium.
  • Space mattersThe 2-2 layout and 37-inch pitch are real upgrades, but expectations should remain short-haul.

Allegiant First is primarily a roomy front seat plus bundled bags, not a luxury-service proposition. Put the final totals for the same flight side by side and let the actual premium decide.
