Current Transfer Bonuses: Citi to Leading Hotels 25% and Chase to Aeroplan Up to 30%

A transfer bonus improves a redemption that already works; it does not fix missing award space, high surcharges or points you cannot use. This page lists only promotions still active on August 26, 2026 and separates them from recent expired offers.

Citi ThankYou to Leading Hotels: 25%, but verify your card's ratio

From Aug. 23 through Sept. 19, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET, eligible Citi ThankYou transfers to Leading Hotels of the World Leaders Club receive 25% extra. Eligible premium cards such as Citi Strata Premier, Strata Elite, Prestige and AT&T Access More commonly improve from 1,000 ThankYou points to 200 Leaders Club points to 1,000:250, or 4:1.

The bonus is built into Citi's transfer ratio and does not require separate registration. No-annual-fee Citi cards may start from a weaker base ratio, so the 25% headline is not enough; the live ThankYou transfer screen and account terms control.

Leaders Club is best for travelers who already found a participating hotel and a workable price. Its footprint is smaller than the large chains and award prices move with cash rates. Confirm the stay first, then transfer only the amount required because the move is irreversible.

Chase Ultimate Rewards to Aeroplan: 20%, or up to 30%

Through September 30, 2026, eligible Chase Ultimate Rewards transfers to Air Canada Aeroplan receive a 20% bonus. At the normal 1:1 rate, 10,000 UR becomes 12,000 Aeroplan points. The live transfer screen controls if its terms differ.

A Chase Aeroplan primary cardmember may stack the card's separate 10% transfer benefit. Air Canada's terms require a single transfer of at least 50,000 Ultimate Rewards points from an eligible Chase card into the primary cardmember's linked Aeroplan account. The card must be active and in good standing, and the extra benefit is capped at 25,000 points per calendar year.

When every condition is met, 50,000 UR produces 60,000 points from the 20% promotion plus 5,000 points from the cardmember benefit, or 65,000 total. The correct effective ratio is 1:1.3; an incorrect ratio in the old article has been fixed.

  • 20% promotion: 10,000 UR → 12,000 Aeroplan points.
  • Stacked cardmember example: 50,000 UR → 65,000 Aeroplan points if all terms are met and the annual cap remains available.
  • Air Canada says the separate 10% cardmember bonus should post within seven days after a completed transfer.
  • Check dynamic pricing, partner booking fees, taxes and change rules before moving points speculatively.

Eligible points to Asia Miles: 10% after registration

Cathay's official campaign runs through August 28, 2026. Members must register with their Cathay membership number, name and email, then convert points from an eligible U.S. financial or hotel partner listed by the campaign.

Because Cathay awards the promotion, the 10% may not appear on the bank or hotel transfer screen. Save the registration confirmation, campaign terms and transfer receipt, and confirm your exact sending program appears on the U.S. partner list.

A 10% bonus is modest. It makes sense only when Asia Miles already has the award you need and the mileage price, cash surcharges and cancellation policy are competitive.

How to calculate a transfer bonus

For a 1:1 partner, transferred points × (1 + bonus percentage) = expected destination points. A 20% bonus turns 25,000 points into 30,000; a 30% bonus turns 50,000 into 65,000.

If the base ratio is not 1:1, apply that ratio before the bonus. A 1:0.75 base ratio plus a 30% bonus produces 1:0.975, not 1:1.05. Tiered offers, caps and separately posted partner bonuses require separate calculations.

Eight checks before transferring

  • Find real award space on the airline or hotel site and rule out phantom availability.
  • Compare the full award cost with the cash fare, including taxes and surcharges.
  • Verify the base ratio, promotional rate, minimum increment and cap.
  • Confirm registration, region, account and partner restrictions.
  • Match account names and recheck the loyalty number.
  • Identify who posts the base points and bonus and the expected timeline.
  • Save terms, registration confirmation, availability and transfer receipts.
  • Do not rely on an unposted bonus for a nonrefundable or last-minute trip.

Frequently asked questions

Is the current Chase-to-Aeroplan bonus 20% or 30%?

The limited-time promotion is 20%. Only primary Chase Aeroplan cardmembers who satisfy the separate 10% card benefit—including the 50,000-point single-transfer minimum and annual cap—may reach 30% total.

How many Aeroplan points does 50,000 UR produce?

The 20% promotion produces 60,000. If every condition for the separate Aeroplan cardmember benefit is also met, the total is 65,000.

Does the Asia Miles 10% campaign require registration?

Yes. Cathay requires registration before a conversion from an eligible U.S. financial or hotel partner.

When does Citi's 25% Leading Hotels bonus end?

The offer shown runs through Sept. 19, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Eligible premium cards commonly transfer 1,000 ThankYou points to 250 Leaders Club points; verify the live ratio after signing in.

Will the promotional points post with the base transfer?

Not always. An issuer-funded bonus may appear immediately, while a partner-funded bonus can post later. Follow the campaign terms and account activity.

Should I transfer my entire balance during a bonus?

Usually no. Transfers are generally irreversible, and loyalty programs can change pricing, fees and expiration rules. Transfer only what a confirmed use requires.
