Chase adds the 45,000-point bonus to the 30,000 total points earned from up to $15,000 in eligible first-six-month purchases, producing 75,000 total points.

Those purchases would already earn 15,000 base points. The promotion adds only one extra point per dollar, so the incremental welcome value is 45k plus up to 15k extra.

Why keep it long term?

The durable value is the Category 1–4 award after each account anniversary. One stay that would otherwise cost meaningfully more than $95 can offset the annual fee.
