Alaska Airlines Adds Seattle–Paris and Seattle–Athens Flights for 2027

Official Alaska Airlines route map from Seattle to Paris, Athens and other European cities

Seattle travelers bound for Europe often start with a connection on the East Coast or in London or Frankfurt. Summer 2027 brings two more nonstop options: Alaska Airlines plans 787-9 flights to Paris and Athens. One fewer connection reduces friction, but frequency, seasonality and launch fares still matter.

When the Seattle–Paris and Seattle–Athens flights begin

Alaska announced that Seattle–Athens starts May 12, 2027 with three weekly flights, followed by Seattle–Paris Charles de Gaulle on May 25 with five weekly flights. Both are seasonal through October and tickets are on sale.

Athens will be the first nonstop between Seattle and Athens and Alaska's longest route when announced. Schedules can change before launch, so monitor the reservation after booking.

Summer 2027 fares are now searchable

Alaska's website is now returning cash fares for summer 2027. The SEA–CDG nonstop example in the screenshot shows a $999 Saver round trip and a $1,219 Main round trip; live prices depend on date and inventory and should be confirmed at checkout.

Main is more flexible than Saver when plans may change. Main fares generally have no change or cancellation fee, and a canceled nonrefundable ticket can be retained in an Account wallet or issued as a credit certificate for future Alaska travel. A fare difference may still apply, and the purchased fare rules control.

What the 787-9 service changes

Both routes are planned on Boeing 787-9 aircraft. Alaska advertises lie-flat business suites and says Starlink Wi-Fi will roll out during 2027, which does not guarantee it on every launch flight.

The published schedule implies roughly 12 hours 50 minutes to Athens and nine hours to Paris.

Using Atmos Rewards

Alaska says travelers can earn and redeem Atmos Rewards points on the new routes. Award pricing and seats depend on the live search; route availability is not the same as low-priced award inventory.

Travelers connecting into Seattle should compare a protected through-ticket with separate tickets. Separate bookings can cost less, but a delay on the first ticket may leave the traveler responsible for a missed transatlantic flight.

Who benefits most

  • Travelers whose destination is France or Greece and who value removing a connection.
  • People with flexible May-to-October dates who can compare cash and award pricing.
  • Pacific Northwest travelers able to connect to Seattle on one itinerary.
  • Travelers continuing in Europe who compare connections, border formalities and total price from both hubs.
